TCLauncher

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

TCLauncher is a free Minecraft launcher. Its optional online account (the “cabinet”) at tclauncher.top lets you sync settings, see friends and use Google Drive. This page explains what is stored and why. You can use the launcher without an account: then nothing leaves your computer except requests to Mojang, Microsoft and the Modrinth mod catalogue needed to download the game.

What the cabinet stores

Skins for multiplayer

If you are signed in and set a skin for an offline nickname, the launcher uploads the skin image (PNG) and whether it is slim or classic to the cabinet under that nickname. Anyone can get this skin by the nickname: that is how other TCLauncher players with the MCL Skin mod see it in the game. A nickname belongs to the first profile that uploaded a skin for it. You can remove the skin at any time, and it is deleted together with your account.

In the game, the MCL Skin mod asks the cabinet for other players’ skins by their nickname, and if the cabinet has none, Mojang’s public profile service (api.mojang.com, sessionserver.mojang.com, textures.minecraft.net). Only the nickname is sent, no account data.

Rooms

When you play with friends in a room, the cabinet keeps the room’s data while it is open: the list of mods in the build, an optional archive of extra files, the members and their states, and the e4mc address to connect to. A room that has been abandoned closes automatically after a day, and its archive is deleted.

Feedback

When you send feedback from the site or the launcher, we store the text, its kind (bug, idea, question or other), where it came from (site or launcher), the launcher version, operating system and language, and either the profile it was sent from or the email address you typed in (optional). The developer may reply to you by email. If you delete your account, your feedback stays but is no longer linked to your profile.

Messages and polls

The launcher’s inbox shows messages from the developer. If you answer a poll, a rating or a question, your answer is stored with your profile and your premium tier at the moment of answering: answers from premium players carry more weight in the results. Answers are deleted together with your account.

Premium and payments

Premium is a Ko-fi membership with two tiers: Premium ($4.50) and Premium+ ($9). After a payment, Ko-fi sends us the payer’s email address, the tier name, the amount and the currency. Premium is matched to your profile by email address. The developer can also grant premium manually and, if you paid from a different email address, move the payment to the right profile. Ko-fi processes the payment; card details never reach us.

Admin panel

The developer has an admin panel that shows profiles (name, profile number, email address), payments and feedback. Every action taken in the admin panel is logged.

Google Drive

If you connect Google Drive, the launcher uploads builds, servers and worlds to your own Drive, into a “TCLauncher” folder. It asks only for these permissions:

Files travel directly between your computer and Google; they do not pass through our server. The cabinet keeps the Google refresh token (encrypted), the connected address and a list of uploaded files (name, type, size, checksum) so that your other computers see them after you sign in. Files marked “profile only” are encrypted on your computer with a key tied to your profile before upload.

We do not use Google data for advertising, do not sell it and do not share it with anyone. TCLauncher’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Drive at any time in the launcher (the “Google Drive” tab). The token is revoked and deleted; files stay on your Drive. You can also remove access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Website visits

The site has no cookies, counters or third-party scripts. To know how many people visit it and what they download, we count visits from the web server’s own log: the page, time, site and browser language, device type, the site you came from and the country determined from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored: we keep only a one-way fingerprint of it together with the browser, which cannot be turned back into an address. These numbers are only ever looked at in total.

What we do not do

Deleting your data

In the cabinet you can delete your account; everything listed above is deleted with it, except feedback, which stays but is no longer linked to your profile. Files you uploaded to Google Drive remain yours and stay on your Drive.

Payment records are the exception: the email, tier, amount, currency and date that Ko-fi sent us stay after the account is deleted, because we need them for accounting and to answer questions about a payment. They are not linked to anything else.
